I want you to get good knowledge from Veterans Donations . Portion of a speech delivered by Aram Garabedian, Rhode Island World War II Memorial Commission Member, at the dedication of the new monument, November 11, 2007. Text of this portion of speech: "This monument is not only about yesterday; it is also about tomorrow, educating future generations of Rhode Islanders and reminding them that the freedom they enjoy is secure only as long as they are willing to sacrifice to preserve it. To me, that is the one word that sums up this memorial: sacrifice. We honor the Rhode Islanders who sailed on the ships, flew in the aircraft, and marched on the battlefields; we remember the efforts of the Rhode Islanders left at home as their loved ones went to war, those who manned the production lines, turned off their lights at night, and saved every usable scrap to help the war effort." At the end of the speech (not shown), Aram also quoted an inscription inside the Normandy Chapel in France: "These endured all and gave all that justice among nations might prevail and that mankind might enjoy freedom and inherit peace." -- Donations are still needed to help fund the completion and upkeep of this important monument!!!
