To keep the momentum growing, this year MAC enlisted the support of local grocer Central Market and the University of Mary. "Collaborating with local businesses aligns with our committee mission of supporting the military along with giving the business community a way to engage their support at various levels for the troops, veterans and their families," says Shelle Michaels Aberle, committee chairwoman. "Treats for the Troops is an easy way for businesses to participate in showing their support during the holidays. When everyone gives a little, the end result quickly becomes a large success." The committee began collecting monetary donations for cookies after Thanksgiving through the Chamber's Web site at www.bismarckmandan.com/events and via the Central Market stores. Community leaders, including University of Mary President Father James Shea, Bismarck State College President Dr. Larry Skogen, Lt. Gov.
